You may enter the Seventh Run with a Book “LEARNING TO WALK WITH RÓŻEWICZ” (in polish “NAUKA CHODZENIA Z RÓŻEWICZEM”) on Saturday, October 9, 2021 on the NCU academic campus. The event is open to amateurs, and everybody can take part in it.
The race's patron
The name of the run refers to the great Polish poet Tadeusz Różewicz. The year 2021 was proclaimed the Year of Tadeusz Różewicz, as on October 9 we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the artist's birth.
Time and place
The competition office is located at the University Library and will be open on October 9, 2021 at 9 a.m. The run starts at 11:30 in the forest behind the library. The route runs along forest paths and alleys in the campus in Bielany (Toruń). The distance is 4.2 km. Competitors run with any book in hand. The minimum weight of a book is 100 grams.
Running awards
There are rewards not only for the fastest runners. In one of the classifications (for runners with a book written by Tadeusz Różewicz), the result will be calculated using an algorithm that takes into account the run time, the weight of the book and a special conversion index that will be revealed just before the start of the run. The awards are gift cards to Empik shops (popular stores for books, CDs, games and stationery).
Registration and entry fee
Registration should be done before the event (until October 5, 2021). Payments (10 zł for NCU students and graduates)) will be accepted in cash at the competition office on the day of the event.
