The Ethnographic Museum in Toruń has announced the tenth anniversary edition of the photo contest “Etnoklimaty”. Works should be submitted until the end of September 2021. The authors of the best photos will receive prizes and get accepted into the post-competition outdoor exhibition.
The aim of the contest organized since 2008 is the photographic record of the themes related to: traditional and folk cultures; multiculturalism, contemporary expressions of traditions; local and regional cultures, subcultures, and popular culture. The organizers encourage participants to seek interesting expressions of everyday life also during the pandemic, at a time of social isolation and numerous travel restrictions.
The NCU Alumni Programme is the contest partner and sponsor of the prize for the best photo taken by a graduate of NCU.
In order to participate in the contest, you should sent photos and the completed application form to promocja@etnomuzeum.pl. Each participant may submit up to 5 single color or black and white photographs. Works may be submitted until September 30. The tenth edition of “Etnoklimaty” contest will be decided by the end of October.
The organizers provided four prizes:
- the main prize of PLN 2 000 – funded by
Marshal of Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship,
- the second prize of PLN 1 000 – funded by Marshal of Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship,
- the in-kind prize for third place will be awarded by the Ethnographic Museum in Toruń,
the special prize funded by Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń will be awarded to the author of the best photo taken by a graduate of NCU (a voucher in the amount of PLN 500 to be used in a photo studio).
Winning works and those qualified by the contest jury will be found at the outdoor exhibition organized by the Ethnographic Museum in Toruń. The exhibition will be complemented by an anniversary catalog.
